Question : Hi, I had a tubal ligation 6 months ago. I have had back pain recently for last 2 months. It has also been difficult for me to hold my urine when I need to go to the toilet. Recently I had a massage of my lower back which felt like it popped something deeper inside then when I urinated straight after there was single episode of bad smelling urine. Now I can hold back the urge to urinate much better. There is still some lower back pain. I'm not sure what to do.
Thanks for helping

Brief Answer:
Can be due to back muscle spasm.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Back pain can be due to lot of reasons. Most commonly, it is due to muscle spasm caused due to improper stretching of back muscles due to faulty posture while sleeping or wrong work posture as well.

Ideally, the patient needs to visit a physiotherapist for a couple of sessions and also take any good muscle relaxant drug along with application of topical local analgesic spray/ointment for relief. Even hot fomentation will help in reducing/eliminating the pain.

If the pain persists, I would strongly recommend you to visit an orthopedic surgeon.

I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to muscle spasm or joint popping.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The popping can be due to a paraspinal muscle spasm or popping of the lumbar joints. The urinary discharge is not likely to be related to pop. This can be due to a mild urinary infection.
Hope my answer is helpful.
