What Causes Back Pain While Having Salmonellosis?

default
Posted on Sat, 9 Jul 2016
Question: I have had 2 pericardial infusions that started in 2008. Since then I have been on prednisone maintanence 10 mg daily unless I am having a flare from autoimmune disease that has not been identified. In the last 6 months I keep testing positive for sominella, severe stomach issues and now I'm having back pain along with the joint and muscle pain I already have. Wondering if the back pain is associated with the sominella or is it related to autoimmune disorder? Also numbness and tingling in my extremities. I am a type 2 diabetic also.

Brief Answer:
Can you upload this salmonella test for interpretation!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported and all the inconveniences this must have caused you. The diagnosis of salmonellosis from blood id a big problem and for sure i want to see the text and make sure your doctors are not seeing traces of old infection and attributing it to salmonellosis. It is unlikely that the back pain is associated to salmonellosis even if this was confirmed. Salmonellosis is notorious for abdominal pain. This pain would more like return to the ranks of the autoimmune disorder are they are well known to cause diffuse symptoms.

Numbness and tingling could be rather attributed to diabetes and this depends on how many years you've been diabetic and how well it is managed. However, i understand there is so much which still has to be settled on and I will suggest that your treating doctor consider these points as he tries to identify the ultimate cause of your symptoms and treat them accordingly.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
