Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Bad taste in mouth despite brushing and raised spots on both side of tongue and dry cracking tongue are connected. Altered taste in mouth has many causes. Dry mouth in old age is commonest of all. Medications are commonest cause for dry mouth. Another possibility is of the gastric discomfort like acid reflux and that can cause bad breath as well as metallic taste. There is a long list of medications that causes bad taste in mouth. Nutritional deficiencies like vitamin B complex can cause bad taste. Oral dentures or any other dental problem like infection, abscess etc , sore throat can also cause bad taste. over brushing your tongue, using abrasive toothpastes, overusing mouthwashes or having too many acidic drinks are also the commonest causes of bad taste in mouth.

I would like you to visit an oral hygienist, let them correlate your condition clinically and sort out the most likely cause in your case.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
