Question: Lately, I get this sewage type taste in my mouth when I burp. It always turns in to nausea and diaharrea. It happens for a day or 2 and then the taste goes away. When the taste goes away, the other things go away as well. I've had this like 5 times in the past 2 months

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

Welcome to health care magic!

I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all it is sad to know about the problem you have been facing lately. Based on the history you have discussed, your symtoms are related more to indigestion, hyperacidity and flatulence.

However, it is treatable with supportive treatment over time. Management is aimed at both medicinal therapy with life style modification.

You can discuss with your GP in detail, but if you had been my patient I would have suggested you with PPI medicine like omeperazole, taken once daily in 40mg before breakfast for 3-4 weeks along with some motility agent like domperidone which can facilitate gastric emptying and avoid burbling and bad odor and taste of the mouth. You can also use some antacid temporarily during acute attacks however with diarrhea, direct antacids may cause increased symtoms so in the incidence you can temporarily with hold there use.

Meanwhile try avoiding greasy, spicy and oily foods. Try using fibre containing foods. Avoid excessive eating or eating to ful capacity. Try to adopt brisk walk after meals and never lye down flat after eating.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me generously before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.
