What Causes Balance Issues And Excessive Sleep While On Medication For Bipolar Disorder?

Question: my daughter in law is taking meds for manic bipolore, she seems "loaded" was her words all the time, I see her eyes are hazey and she looses her balance, and can sleep through her alarm. Is her meds too powerful for her?
