default
Posted on Tue, 31 Oct 2017
Question: Hi - I am having quite a bit of chest pain when I swallow, I'm belching a lot, which is very unusual for me, and I have the hiccups while I'm trying to eat. Is this a serious issue or can it wait till Monday to see my PCP or is it something I need to see her for. T

Brief Answer:
Take Omeprazole 20mg daily. Wait to monday!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of acid reflux. I suggest you take omeprazole 20mg daily. This is available over the counter. Monitor the intensity of your symptoms and unless something else comes up, you can wait till Monday to see your doctor.

Also, avoid alcohol, tobacco, chocolate and fatty meals. Also, avoid leaning forward too soon after meals and use a head probe at night.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and await your updates.
