Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
Cautery causes tissue necrosis. It is a normal phenomenon. Sometimes if skin is cauterised it can appear black. If there is no pain or loss of sensation, you should wait for few days. But if blackening is too much than you should visit the surgeon again to rule out any ischemic complications. You can send me the pictures so that I can suggest you better.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Thanks and regards
