What Causes Black Patches On The Legs While Having Restless Legs Syndrome?

Question: My mother has problem of restless legs for last 20 years and for last 3 years black patches has also grown on her leg skin from ankle to knee. She is about 52 and have weight around 75. She has high blood pressure problem for which she regulary takes medicines on daily basis. She has never went into major surgery except womb operation.
Could you please help me in this.

It could be Varicose veins.

Hi
Discomfort in the leg associated with black patches could be due to varicose veins commonly.
Even though the superficial vein is not prominent, the connecting veins(perforators) will be incompetent leading to dark coloured patches over the leg.
Please consult a vascular surgeon, get her examined clinically.I prefer to get a Colour doppler examination of the affected limb.
