What Causes Bleeding During Bowel Movement?

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Sep 2015
Question: Hi Doctor, I am 11 weeks 4 days pregnant. This is my first pregnancy Today i had bleeding during stools. But i don't feel any cramps and pain in stomach. I suspect it to be anal bleeding as i had piles few years back, but i did not undergo any surgery as problem did not repeat after having proper diet.
Am very worried as am not 100% sure its not vaginal bleeding. Please advice.

Brief Answer:
Take rest and follow diet

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your query.

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about bleeding.

Following is my reply:

1) If you had one episode of bleeding, dont worry about it.

2) Take rest for 2 days if you have no pain as of now.

3) After 2 days get examined by a surgeon to check if piles has recurred which commonly happens during pregnancy.

4) This bleeding is more likely from piles only and nothing else.

5) follow same diet as you did earlier when you had piles.

I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.

Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.

Regards,
Dr. Mahesh Koregol
