What Causes Bleeding During Passing Stool?

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Jun 2014
Question: I have a question about my bloody stool
I haven't had it before. The blood is mostly on the outside and seems to be a few teaspoons or so. Tough to tell. I feel pretty weak as well. Is it serious?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM .

Since you are having bleeding during passing stool that might have reduced your haemoglobin and you might be feeling weakness because of that.

I would like to know few details like
-does the blood is mixed with stool or appears after passing stool?
-is it fresh blood i.e red coloured or brown coloured stool.
-do you have any mass coming out of anus or constipation and pain during passing stools.

With above details I can clarify your doubts in more better way.

The possible causes could be fissure or haemorrhoids or bleeding from stomach ulcer at your age. I would suggest you to consult a surgeon and get examined to come to a diagnosis.

It is not serious but should be treated. I would suggest you to get your haemoglobin level checked .

waiting for your reply.
