Question : Hello, iam 14 weeks pregnant and have had few episodes of bleeding since 8weeks. My recent scan showz a small bleed behind the placenta. The doctor has advised Lonopin 40mg once every day for 15 days. I have been prescribed gynae cvp thrice daily and pause 500mg twice for 5days.
My previous was a miscarriage in 23rd week due to cervical insuffiency. I am to get cervical stitches done after the lonopin injection course.
Please advice if the above treatment is correct and does it have any effects on my health or baby's wellbeing.

Hi

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. If the reason for last abortion was short cervix then lonopil is of no use.

2. I dont see use of lonopil when there is bleeding behind placenta and you are facing bleeding on and off.

3. Therefore please stop lonopil which will keep increasing the bleeding.

4. Get cervical sutures anytime now.
