What Causes Blockage Of Nose With Pus And Blood?
allergic rhinitis if symptoms persistent
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
If you symptoms are acute and not persistent then they may be due to an acute infection such as the common cold or flu
If they are persistent then they are likely related to allergic rhinitis (allergies involving the nasal passages) which may occur on its own or with allergic sinusitis (allergies involving the sinusitis).
Blood can occur as a result of inflammation, infection or trauma to any surface. Inflammation occurs due to allergies/infection.
Allergic rhinitis can present with all or some of the following symptoms- nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, post nasal drip, cough
Treatment: (1) most commonly due to allergies so avoiding or reducing contact with the stimulus is important
A patient of mine had these symptoms when using bananas.
Can occur in response to food, drink, medication, dust, animal dander, pollen
(2)topical steroid nasal sprays eg flonase, rhinocort, nasocort, nasonex
(3)oral antihistamines
(4)if the above is not effective may need meds such as singulair which also help in reducing allergic response
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
