Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

The information provided is inadequate.
The age, medical history, tests done and medications taken are not mentioned.

Blood ad mucus discharge seen in the nappy could indicate colitis or colorectal malignancy in an elderly individual.

Colonoscopy may have to be done to find the cause.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Brief Answer:
Sepsis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
She is probably having sepsis as indicated by high white cell count/ESR/CRP.
She needs IV antibiotics.
Since she is dehydrated, she may need intravenous fluid administration also.
Since her level of consciousness is low, she needs to be hospitalized
Swollen legs could be due to immobilization, poor nutrition or low albumin. Tests are to be done in this regard.

The right abdomen could be due to infection spreading to peritoneal cavity. She needs medical attention

Dr.R.K.

thank You doctor , i was reading high CRP can indicate also atherosclerosis and as my mum.want to walk and struggles to , could the atherosclerosis be in her legs or her abdominal blood vessella and will this show up on her abdominal CT scan.

Brief Answer:
Yes CT scan.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Welcome back to HCM.

CRP is called an acute phase reactant. Its level increases whenever there is infection or inflammation anywhere in the body.

Atherosclerosis of abdominal blood vessels will show up in CT scan if there is calcification in the vessel wall or if there is any narrowing.

There will be reduction in the blood flow and this causes abdominal pain especially after eating.

That involving the vessels in the leg cause pain while walking and can be diagnosed with a Doppler scan.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Dr.R.K
