1. I noticed the blood blisters about a week ago but it's possible they've been there longer. I had to pull my tongue out to see them.
2. Not recurrent, to the best of my knowledge.
3. Yes, but not for over 20 years.
4. Lisinopril/hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure and Lipitor for high cholesterol, Vitamin b12 and Vitamin D3
5. I have hypertension, my father had colon cancer, I've had skin cancer
6. no rash evident
7. no fever, vomiting or diarrhea
8. they seem to burn or tingle a bit
9. just the feeling that there is something stuck in the back of my throat behind the area where the blood blisters appear on my tongue
10. We tried taking a picture but they are too far back on the tongue to get a good picture. They look like raised blood blisters, in a straight horizontal line, about half the size of a pencil eraser
Unlikely to be cancer but needs workup
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them.
Its unlikely to be cancer so first thing that you need to do is RELAX. Stress/anxiety almost always aggravates the problem. These sores are most probably due to stress. They reappear again and again at the time of stress and regresses later. They usually does not require any particular treatment BUT as they are painful so local anesthetic gel is applied. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised Lignocaine 2% Gel. You might need a prescription for it.
Method of application:
1. Wash mouth with plain water and dry the sore area with tissue.
2. Now apply gel over the sore. Initially you might feel burning sensation but it will last only for few seconds.
3. Wait for 30-60sec
4. Then wash mouth with plain water.
Repeat these steps 2-3times a day. Hopefully you will see improvement in 1-2 days.
Hopefully you will observe improvement in 2-3 days.If it persists then you need to visit hospital for further workup.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
