Question : Hi,
I have seen a GP recently for slightly bloody matter from the left nostril. It also bled a bit. I was prescribed Omnaris and Doxycycline. My GP did not think there was an upper nasal infection but antibiotics were prescribed just in case.
Should I see an ENT and can an ENT determine the upper nasal infection? I understand that the nasal infection is not easy to pick up. Usually only ten days of pain and pressure sensation could confirm an infection in the area. Would rulide be a better antibiotic to use to treat these infections and is it considered stronger than doxycycline?
I have a mild mid septal deviation in the left nasal area but the right is normal.

Thankyou.

Thanks Dr. Karade,

I will try to see an ENT specialist. I am not sure if the saline rinse is different from the spray. What products would be recommended for the rinse, I am already using the Fess saline nasal spray. Also, is seawater purified considered a good source for the spray?

Regards.
