Brief Answer:
Hemoptysis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Blood in phlegm/spit is known as hemoptysis. Its a matter for concern and requires evaluation. Fever should be checked, auscultation for signs of respiratory tract infection should be done. Other features such as weight loss, cough pattern, night sweats should be looked for as part of the clinical history and examination. Chest x ray and blood counts should be done as part of the initial workup. Sputum for AFB , bronchoscopy can be done if suspicion for tuberculosis or malignancy. Please consult a pulmonologist for workup in this regard.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
