Question : I have an enlarged prostate. Had biopsy nov/2013, which was negative. My urologist said I had 2 pre-cancerous samples but appeared to be ok. I noticed with alarm this morning blood in my ejaculation. I'm 61 yrs old. I've been riding my new distance/racing bike for a week and a half now and maybe I irritated something. Urine stream is normal but color is orange, no pain. My urine appears to have blood in it. No loss. I take super beta prostate for this condition. I
I'm afraid to do another biopsy for fear of spreading it around if it is cancer do you have a recommendation on this problem or options to pursue. I'm worried!

Brief Answer:
A few alternatives can be tried, but cause can be found only through tests

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I understand your concern and for this reason I recommend investigation like:

+Serum PSA (a screening test that can be monitored to check on any changes in the prostate health)
+CT scan of your pelvis (with emphasis on your prostate)

Of course a biopsy is most accurate, but in order to avoid one these are a few options available. An infection can also cause such a presentation, so along with those tests I also recommend a urine culture and a complete blood count.

I hope you find my response helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
