Question : I'm currently being treated for lymes disease and I am on chlarithromyicin and cleftin. I have noticed light to dark brown semen during ejaculation. I have know pain presently but had some testicular pain about a week ago. I have also been treated for epididimitis several times in the past.

Any thoughts before I rush to the doctor?

After having gone through your query you seem to be having some sort of infection that has resulted in brown colored semen (hematospermia).

Light brown semen is usually due to blood in the semen can be due to certain underlying infections (for example, prostatitis, urethritis, or epididymitis), benign enlargement of the prostate gland, and prostate cancer. It can also be due to tumors of the seminal vesicles and testes.

It can also due to sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea or chlamydia, or from another viral or bacterial infection.

In view of the possibilities outlined above and the fact that you had recurrent attacks of epididymitis in the past I advise you to consult a urologist for proper clinical examination and certain lab tests such as urine analysis, semen analysis and its culture & sensitivity, and an ultrasound scan to identify infections or other abnormalities.
