Question : I took antibiotic cephalexin 500 mg, metronidazole 250 mg, and Ibuprofen for 10 days. During 8th day, i had blood in stool. I asked my Dentist (who prescribed) and he told me to stop metronidazole. Today is 11th day, ny stool is black. Is it a concern or will it be okay since i stopped antibiotics. I am 49 years old female.

Brief Answer:
You need to start on Omeprazole once a day.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Ibuprofen is likely to cause GI bleeding.

I would advise you to get hemoglobin levels checked to see if the levels are low.
I would advise to start omeprazole once a day for at least 4 weeks.

In case the hemoglobin is low or the black stools continue you would need an upper GI endoscopy.

Hope this helps
