Question : I'm a 64 year old female that has a history of DVT, and have recently been prescribed Eloquis. Also, I have recently been prescribed iron and vitamin B-12. My blood pressur today is 115 over 62, and I have very little energy. I might also have blood in my stool since it is very dark. Any ideas?
My normal blood pressure is 125/75.

Brief Answer:
Side effect of Eliquis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Eliquis is a blood thinner which is used to treat DVT however the major side effect is bleeding. The fact that your BP has fallen and that there is blood in stools implies that you have instestinal bleeding. I strongly recommend that you approach the ER immediately to check your hemoglobin to see if there is a significant fall in it requiring blood transfusion.

Please do not ignore this serious matter.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
