Question : i have blood in my stools some dark and some bright red, I have torn the muscles in my back and am on codeine for the pain, but the blood in my stools have been going on before this, when I go to the loo I feel really dizzy, I have had a urine sample done and there is protein, white blood cells and blood in it which I have been prescribed a medicine for this but the prescription ended last week. the codeine I haven't taken since sunday as the pain in my back feel better and the pain I'm experiencing now feels different which is a stabbing pain in my lower back on the right hand side and I often get pains in my legs and feet, which I just put down to varicose veins, I work really hard sometimes up to 50 hours should I be concerned

I am also a mum of two and work seven days a week

you have fresh and dark blood in your stools.
This happens in diseases of lower part of alimentary canal . You could be suffering from anal fissure or piles.
In suggest take laxatives for few days and if the condition does not improve , consult a surgeon for direct examination and treatment accordingly. You should not neglect it.
