Question : Hello! To my baby girl of 11 months, while I was changing the pampers, I noticed that has some brown secretions with a litlle red spot which seemed like blood. It was the first time I have noticed this . Please can you tell me what it might be cause I got scared. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
For now, be calm and monitor only!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am so sorry to hear about the disturbing thoughts this observation has caused you. Stool at times may have slight differences in presentation and do not always signal an infection or a disease condition. If the baby is eating well and plays as usual with no fever or pain, then there is no reason to worry. I will recommend you monitor only and seek further help only if this happens again. I strongly discourage against becoming too aggressive as this may lead to unnecessary treatment.

I hope this helps. I wish your baby well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
