Brief Answer:
Could be due to dyesentery or constipation

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Blood in stool can be caused due to two broad reasons:
1. Localized damage to the rectum due to constipation.
2. Dysentery caused due a gastrointestinal infection

If you have constipation along with passage of blood, you first need to soften your stool. Take stool softeners like isabgol regularly at dinner. You may also take lactulose syrup for the same. Take high fibre diet. Taking Sitz bath should help. Take water in a tumbler, as hot as your skin can take, and sit with the opening of your rectum dipped in it.

On the other hand, if you have diarrhoea with passage of blood with stool, chances are that you have dysentery which would require to be treated with antibiotics. You would also need to take ORS (oral rehydration solution) sip by sip after mixing a full XXXXXXX in a litre of water. Consume it within 24 hours.

In any case, I would insist that you visit a doctor and get yourself examined. There could be other sources of gastrointestinal bleeding manifesting with blood in stool. The cause needs to be evaluated and treated.

Hope that helps.

Brief Answer:
Healing time depends upon cause. Visit a doctor and get cause determined

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
Sorry for not being able to write back earlier.

How long it would take to heal up, depends upon the cause which needs to be ascertained first. If it is dysentery and if it is not treated, it may even be fatal. If dysentery, and treated properly, it may take 3-7 days to stop. If it is piles, the healing time might vary with the degree of seriosity as well as the intervention. Except for piles, other conditions do not require any cream or ointment. In piles, Sucral Ano or Annovate cream may be applied.

I would strongly insist that you visit a doctor and get it diagnosed and treated.

Hope that helps.
