What Causes Blood In Stool?

default
Posted on Wed, 4 Nov 2015
Question: When I have a bowel movement and wipe toward the end of wiping i will notice light blood tinge. At times when I urinate I may have a very light pink tinge. Not every time. I have been under a lot of stress of late. Starting a new job after a year layoff, an issue with one of my grown children and trying to keep all together. Cd it be stress? I will also experience a slight period-type cramp from time to time after experiencing a discharge like it is a period of sorts. Thank you for your advice

Brief Answer:
Per rectal bleed, needs to be worked up for the cause

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Blood tinge after bowel movements on wiping is neither correlated to stress not it could be menstrual blood at age of 60 once menopause. Any how it needs to be sorted out on all the grounds first for GI causes like hemorrhoids, polyps, some masses or fissures and tags etc. If the blood turns out ot be from vaginal origin then cervical and uterine evaluation will be necessary to sort it out.

Stress can worsen the bowel pathology like constipation or dernaged bowel movement that can worsen by giving such blood tinge picture but to have that you must have a history of some chronic constipation.

Nutshell this per rectal / per vaginal bleed needs work up and evaluation to find out the cause. Talk to your doctor and let them help you in this regard.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
