What Causes Blood In Stools?

default
Posted on Sat, 13 Sep 2014
Question: G/morning,
I noticed what appeared to be a two toned stool movement this morning mixed with what appeared to be streaks of blood (?) My stool was normal color otherwise except it was two toned (normal brown and a couple of darker brown parts (definitely NOT black or tarry)
My second bowel movement about 10 minutes later yielded the normal brown color and not two toned and with no signs of blood! Is this normal or should I be concerned? I ate nothing out of the ordinary and am not taking any meds of any sort!
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Need not be concerned , Just wait and observe .

Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for posting your query .

Well definitely I feel there is nothing to be worried as such .

Dual colored stool can be formed due to improper digestion of food . Streaks of blood indicate minor injury near your anal region ( probably due to previous constipation )

If you are constipated I advise you to use some Laxatives like Lactulose after consulting your doctor.

But if in case the streaks of blood keeps appearing or if your stool is black then you need to consult your doctor for a per rectal examination and stool for occult blood test .

Hope you find my answer helpful .

Any doubts or queries feel free to ask .

Happy to help you .

Regards.

Hi

Yes The absence of any blood during your second bowel movement is indeed a good sign.

Just observe your motions for few more days and if no further blood or black colored stool then no need to do anything . Just Relax :)
