Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have Hematuria (Blood in urine )
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do yo have any other urinary symptom like burning ,dysuria,frequency suggestive of UTI ?
2) Is it a XXXXXXX blood or red colored urine ?
Blood in urine (hematuria at the age of 62 years ) can be due to one of the following few factors and has to be investigated thoroughly .
1) Infection in Urinary tract (UTI)
2) Urinary stone disease
3) Mass lesion in either kidney or bladder .
consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Endoscopic Examination of Bladder (Cystoscopy)
4) C.T Scan of urinary system (If required)
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
In the meanwhile start taking broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily .
