Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The blood in the urine could be from a number of different causes including a bladder infection, prostatitis, and urinary tract stones. But it can also be from cancerous growths, too.
I recommend that you go in to see your doctor now, or go in to an urgent care clinic where they should get a urinalysis and do an exam. If the urinalysis doesn't reveal enough information, you may need a referral to a urologist. If the urinalysis indicates a likely infection, make sure it is sent for "culture and sensitivity" which will show what is causing the infection, and even more importantly, which antibiotics are most effective.
So - don't ignore this symptom. Go in to be evaluated.
Please let me know if I can provide more information after you have gone in to be evaluated.
