Question : I am having blood in my urine. It also has an odor to it.
Brief Answer:
investigation is required
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
blood in the urine always requires investigation. The most likely cause is a urinary tract infection particularly if you also had symptoms like burning during urination, frequency and urgency. A urinalysis will provide more information. A urine culture will demonstrate or exclude the presence of bacteria in the urine.
If the urinary tract infection scenario cannot be confirmed then further investigation for the cause will have to be done. An ultrasound scan of the urinary tract (including the kidneys) is the first test to do in such a case.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind regards!
