Brief Answer:
Some possible causes of blood in the urine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

Blood in urine may be connected to many things.

The first possible and most common cause is blood coming from stones in the kidneys. When they move in the urinary tubes, they cause a small damage of the mucosa of the kidney wall which causes a slight bleeding.

Also, one other cause can be a urinary tract infection. Of course in this cause there are other symptoms which would be evident too like urinary burning and difficulty in urination.

External damage of the penis, or any other cause of damage in the urinary ways can be a cause too.

Also, are you sure it is blood? Some foods and medicines can cause a red urine which patients think as blood. So only a urinalysis can tell for sure if it is blood.

Ultimately, but very rare cause of blood in the urine is a tumor in the urinary ways.

The best possible way to understand, rule out or confirm important diagnoses, is a full history of your symptoms, a physical exam and tests like urinalyses, urine culture, abdominal ultrasound, ect.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
