Question : I am 83 and male. Generally quite healthy. I haven't seen my internal medicine doctor in over a month. About one-fourth of the foreword top of my left foot is evenly blue. It has persisted for several days. What may explain this?
Brief Answer:
Do you have any pains?
Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for contacting us.
I have reviewed the attache image. This seems to be related to blood leakage under the skin. I am not sure whether you put on tight fitting shoes as this might be the most likely cause. It doesn't look infected to me. On another note, is there any pain? Do you think this is increasing in size or not?
If there is no pain or gradual increase in size, I suggest that you observe only. Get a visit to your doctor if there is pain/increase in area of bluish discoloration,
I hope this is guiding enough. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
