Question : I have a very noticeable bounding pulse in my lower left neck. My physician listened to my carotid and could not hear a blockage. What is your opinion?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that it may be related to different causes:

1- Aortic valve insufficiency or regurgitation. A cardiac ultrasound is necessary to examine your heart structure and function and exclude this possibility
2- Cervical artery stenosis. Besides physical examination a Doppler ultrasound of the cervical vessels is necessary to exclude this possibility
3- Other possible metabolic causes like chronic anemia or thyroid dysfunction. some blood lab tests are needed to exclude these possibilities (a complete blood count, thyroid hormone levels, blood electrolytes).

I recommend discussing with your doctor on the above issues.

Meanwhile, I recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure as high blood pressure could also cause such symptoms.
