Question : I have had trouble getting a deep breath for about five days. Now my arms and face are tingling. Is this of concern?

Brief Answer: Anxiety factor, COPD, Heart disease Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for your query In your age group breathing problem may be due to various reasons like heart diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, anxiety factors and even severe weakness. Therefore you need to go through the following investigations to exclude them one by one - 1. Chest X-ray (PA view) 2. ECG in 12 leads 3. Serum electrolytes, blood sugar (fasting and post-prandial) and hemoglobin 4. Spirometry and bronchodialator reversibility 5. Consultation with a psychiatrist Meanwhile you continue take omeprazole tablet before food as before, clonazepam 0.5 mg at bed time and have nutrtious diet protein rich. Saw my primary yesterday. She checked breathing, which was OK. Also said to stop omeprazole since shortness of breath is a side effect.
