                                    Brief Answer:
Prematurity due to early induction of birth has a definite role to play
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic.
Bronchi pulmonary dysplasia or chronic lung disease in newborns occurs when prolonged oxygen support is essential. Prematurity due to early induction of birth has a definite role to play as it leads to immaturity of the lungs of the baby.
Hope that helps

                                    Brief Answer:
Respiratory distress in newborns is a chief complaint of prematurity
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
The lung maturity is completed when the baby reaches term. Prematurity, whether natural or induced, can thus lead to immature lungs and hence respiratory distress in newborn. This could pave way for oxygen dependency or broncho pulmonary dysplasia.
In case of induced delivery, such complications can easily be prevented simply by administering two doses of steroids to the mother 24 hours prior to delivery. It induces lung maturity in the babies.
Hope that helps.
