Question : Hi, I noticed that the tip of my glans around the hole has changed colour and has become darker brown. I noticed this a couple of months ago. It has not grown in size. But I wanted an opinion on what it could be. I can also send you a photo if you need. Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Keratinization of skin of tip of glans
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and i have reviewed the image.
The slightly different color at the tip of glans is due to keratinization of skin of this area and is quite normal. This may happen because this part of penis may be more exposed, dry and prone to friction as compared to the rest of glans which is normally covered with prepuce.
Regards

Thank you for your reply doctor. Is it normal for such a thing to happen all of a sudden? Because I started noticing it recently. I'm sure I didn't have it before. Also, I masturbate frequently. Can it be a cause for this? Lastly, is there anything I need to do about it? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
No intervention required
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It is absolutely normal. May be friction from masturbation is the cause. Anyways you don't need to worry about it. You can ignore it as a normal condition.
