Question : My stools have been floating lately. Is this something to be concerned about? Color is medium brown and no foul odor.
Brief Answer:
Floating stools
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking .
Many things can cause floating stools, most of the time these are due to what you eat. A change in your diet may cause an increase in gas. Increased gas in the bowel allows it to float .
Floating stools may also happen if you have gastrointestinal infection/inappropriate fat digestion or excretion (steatorrhea). If the change of diet has caused floating stools just try to find which food is to blame and avoiding this maybe helpful.
The color medium brown is also due to the food particles ingested only, unless it's black/tarry, nothing to worry about it.
Hope this answer your questions . Feel free to ask in case of any further queries.
Regards
