What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge When Having The Nexplanon Implant?

Question: I've had the nexplanon implant for just over a year now and, during that time, I had no periods or discharge (apart from the first two weeks). Today, I found some light brown discharge. I took a pregnancy test, which was negative. Do you know what could be the cause?
