After intercourse I noticed my foreskin was bruised, no bleeding, but I could see the skin was slightly damaged. Do I need to take a T T shot for this?

Brief Answer:
TT may not be required.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.

Cuts are common during intercourse if forceful or mismatch.
Tetanus spores are present in soil or dust particles. They germinate when they enter conducive environment.

If proper genital hygiene is maintained there is no need of TT to be taken as your cuts cannot come in contact with soil or dust. Also if the genital cut is washed properly and cleaned daily till it heals the spores get washed away.

If you have taken TT injection for any other reason in the past 5 years you need not take. TT if taken full course with boosters protects you for at least 5 years. Still you have a doubt or out of this 5 years you can take TT.

So allay the fear.
Thank you
Dr Bharatesh
