What Causes Bubbling Sound In Lower Stomach Followed By Severe Abdominal Pain?

default
Posted on Wed, 11 Mar 2015
Question: My son has been suffering with pain in a triangular region below his belly button for more than a week. He is complaining that his belly is stiff. Our family physician prescribed Dicyclomine (sp?) for bowel spasms (residual from stomach flu) and that seems to help when eating, but his pain is not subsiding.

He tells me that the stiffness began today and that he feels a "bubbling" feeling before the pain intensifies.

Brief Answer:
Hard to comment without examining. Visit a doctor.Dicyclomine can be given.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Your child needs to be examined thoroughly before suggestions can be made. Going by the description, you are perhaps referring to the area of urinary bladder. Dicyclomine would act on both the bladder as well as the intestines. Intestines can have a bubbling sound.

The cause needs to be evaluated and managed without delay. Please visit a doctor and get it checked.
