Brief Answer:
?Bites on arm?

Detailed Answer:
Thank you so much for your digital photographs. I've looked at both photos under high power magnification and also checked for perhaps more minor bite marks with more subtle reaction areas. I only spotted the 2 that you demonstrate in the pictures.

I agree that there appear to be small bites of some sort on your arm and most likely they are some type of insect...perhaps a mosquito or perhaps a small spider. I have no good explanation immediately as to why you seem to be susceptible and not your boyfriend except to say that in some cases with insects...mosquitoes especially.....some individuals give off a SCENT from their skin that highly attracts these critters.....Or it may be something you wear that sends out a homing beacon that overpowers/overrides whatever the natural scent is of the skin of your boyfriend.

If it were me in this situation I would naturally take some type of action since you say it's been a couple of weeks and initially put on some form of defensive spray at night such as OFF....or other Zeet containing substance.....you don't have to douse yourself......just try your arms and legs first. The 2nd thing I would do would be to change soap products I used to wash my skin and also stop using certain scented creams or lotions for the time being.

I would also thoroughly wash and HEAT DRY all bed linens, towels, and drawer clothing as there could be residual material on those items that attract the insects at night (which is when I believe this is more prone to happen).

If the problem persists despite these measures then, I think another possible solution would be to call an insect chasing company (such as Orkin) so as to consult with them to see if they had any specific recommendations. They are probably very knowledgeable as to the exact type of insects are likely to be living in your house this time of year and would have a way of chasing them down. You may have to leave the house for a few hours or even a day...depending upon what they suggest....but those would be my thoughts.

If I've adequately answered your questions could you do me a huge favor by CLOSING THE QUERY and being sure to include some fine words of feedback along with a 5 STAR rating if you feel my suggestions have helped? Again, many thanks for posing your questions and please let me know how things turn out.

Brief Answer:
I agree that bed bugs is a clear and present possibility

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your kind words. I agree with you that bed bugs could certainly be a possibility which is why I recommended the more aggressive cleansing of not only the bed and pillow linens but you may also wish to look at flipping and cleaning off the mattress, putting a mattress cover on the bed if the problem persists, etc.

Again, many thanks for posing your questions and please let me know how things turn out over the next couple of weeks if things get better after you've taken these measures. In the mean time a very small amount of some hydrocortisone cream on the 2 areas of bites once or twice daily will make the itching a bit better. Don't use the steroid cream for more than 2-3 days or until the redness subsides. Alternatively, you could use a small amount of Benadryl either in tablets or liquid form to reduce itching and inflammatory sensations. But of course, the treatment of choice is find out whatever is biting you in the first place.

I'd very much appreciate closing the question out with a few positive comments and 5 star rating if you feel the suggestions were of benefit and look forward to answering any other questions you may have in the future at:
