Question : I have a small (the size of a XXXXXXX seed), slightly raised, mole on my upper lip. I've had it as long as I can remember. I recently got permanent lip makeup (pink tattoo). Since then the mole has darkened (brown) in appearance. It could be that it has gotten more sun now that I no longer wear lipstick. I do use lip gloss with sunscreen.
I've been watching it very closely and it doesn't seem to have changed in the last month. Should I be worried about skin cancer?

Mole looks normal to me, no need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
I have gone through your history as well as reviewed the attached photograph.
The mole is looking normal to me.
Darkening can be due to the affect of tattooing on the neighboring skin.
I don't think it is related to skin cancer.
No need to worry.

Dr Asmeet
