What Causes Bump On Penis After Circumcision?

Posted on Thu, 6 Nov 2014
Question: I had a circumcision 12,days ago and m 28. From the 2 day when I opened my bandage I noticed a small bump on the top left side of my penis just below the incision line and all my left side starting from the bump till the frenulum area was swollen. I talked to my doc and he told that its juz because he had gave me 2 to 3 excess local blocks in that area as I told him that I can feel the pain wen he was doing the surgery. He told me it will go in some days. But now its day 12 and most of the swelling have gone ( not completely), but the bump remains there in the size of a ground but. There is no pain related to this, but I remember there was a vein running through that area. The bump is a bit hard to touch , but still I can press it. Is it a complication ?. There is no discoloration and I have not removed any stitches in that left side of the incision yet.. Plz help me

Brief Answer:
It does not sound like a complication to me.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It does not sound like a complication to me. However, a physical examination is required to confirm. Complete resolving of circumcision related wound would take upto 6 weeks. Make sure that you are under antibiotic coverage.

Stay healthy and let me know if you need any clarifications.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply sir

But I need some more clarification. Juz need to know whether it is normal and my left side is still bit fleshy and still a little amount of swelling is there. My right side is clear and flat. The bump is noticeable and I m a bit tensed due to this. Can I know the reason for that bump under my fore skin and how can I get rid of that ?. Is it due to the uneven cutting of foreskin during surgery or just due to the internal sutures on blood vessels?..or just a lymphatic accumulation.?. Its like an internal cyst, but was nothing like this there before surgery. Plz help me out solving this problem

Brief Answer:
It is due to inflammation

Detailed Answer:
It is due to inflammation commonly caused by minor wound infection or may be due accumulation of any body fluid. It is for sure not an internal cyst. Supportive measures should resolve it. I do not think that it is a big thing to get worried about. However, a physical examination is required to confirm.
