What Causes Bump Oozing Yellowish Pus On Inner Thigh?

Question: I'm not sure what I have... That's why i'm here
About two weeks ago I noticed a bump on my inner thigh close to my bikini line. In the course of 3 days it grew in size. It should be noted that i recently gained weight due to thyroid issues so XXXXXXX fit tighter. Out of the blue, on Saturday night, it popped. Yellow-ivory-ish puss came oozing out. I pressed it & more puss came out until it stopped & left a decay, small hole on my skin (see pic). It's been draining a little bit since then. It is sensitive to touch or when I wear pants as they fit a bit tighter. I've come to think its an ingrown since I pluck/shave.After popping, the bump has reduced it's size but the whole is still there. Please help.

Brief Answer:
Ingrown hair is most likely possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your query. I have seen the attached photograph also.
I understand your concern.
I can appreciate a hole which is actually the sinus formed in the affected area. The most likely possibility for your symptoms is Ingrown hair.
As you mentioned, it is likely to develop in hair bearing area on shaving close to the skin. The trimmed hair turns upside down and enters the adjacent skin.
Various precipitating factors are hard hair, tight clothing and hair trimmed close to the skin.
Later it gets secondarily infected leading to pus formation and sinus tract formation along the entered hair in the skin.
In such cases, oral broad spectrum antibiotics are started along with topical antibiotic like mupirocin 2 percent.
If it doesn't respond to conservative measures, the ultimate treatment is excision of the tract.

Visit your doctor so that he can examine you and give you prescription.
You can share my opinion with him.
I hope it helps.
Stay healthy.
