What Causes Burning After The Masturbation?

Hi Doctor, 47yr old male, nil history of this problem. 3 weeks ago mastubated with Vaseline, woke up next day with a very uncomfortable urethra (pee hole) the opening burns a little if a dribble of urine touches it, seen GP, took a urine test which was all clear, given antibiotics for 5 days, problem seem to have subsided, then masturbated 7 days later woke with same problem again, it initially hurts to pee first thing in the morning, no other pain. I am prone to getting thrush on the head of my penis, but it’s not thrush, although the burning sensation on the tip of the penis near urethra resembles the same type of feeling. If I put anti fungal cream on it , it stings. No discharge, no back pain

Last time I felt okay after 7 days, then masturbated without lubricant and it reoccurred. How long do you suggest this time 2 weeks ? as I don’t want it to happen again. Also I am in Australia, so unable to get that cream, do you suggest anything else. Did you want me to upload a pic as well? There is no longer any redness around the opening, the discomfort is more inside the urethra now.

Dear Doctor XXXXXXX
I went back to my GP today as the whole head of my penis feels likes it’s burning.
The doctor sent me off for bloods, urine and swap.
He has prescribed a hydrocortisone 1% cream to apply and some Doxycycline tablets. I have no discharge, no pain when urinating, just the inside of my penis and head feels like it’s burning, the Dr said my penis looked healthy, applied the cream today, hasn’t helped. Is this normal could it be something else? Or will it take time, feeling worried. Thank you , XXXX

I have discontinued the use of the cream on your advice.
My doctor ordered more blood tests all came back negative yesterday and urine test negative again.
I am taking the doxycycline 100mg tablet once per day for 21 days.
This is Day 4 on the medication. Generally how long before the doxycycline is effective as nothing has changed ?
I noticed something different when I woke this morning, the burning in my urethra was probably only 2/10 then when urinated first thing in the morning the burning pain has returned inside my urethra and is about 6/10.
Are you still diagnosing urethritis ? and should this clear up on the doxycycline?
As Christmas is approaching and everything is closing, I didn’t want it to be something serious.
Do you think I need to see a specialist (urologist) in Australia to undertake a cystoscopy ?

I woke this morning thinking my problem had resolved it’s self. I had no pain or burning inside my penis (urethra). I then went to the toilet and urinated, no pain during urinating, but afterwards, the pain and burning feeling has come back inside my penis. Can I assume that the pee is still irritating the lining of my urethra?
As I didn’t wake through the night, and the pain has returned after my first pee this morning.
Obviously like you said it will take time to heal, but this so frustrating.

My apologies for posing a follow up question. I just went back to the doctor for results of my last urine test on the 13/11 and I have Enterobacter Cloacae which was found in my urinary track. The doctor has put me back on the original antibiotics cephalexin. The doctor has also referred me to a urologist which has a 3 month waiting list. I have attached the urine report along with consultation notes from my GP. Could this bacteria be causing the burning inside my urethra? Once again thank you

I shall be happy if you can post me more details to help me in making precise comments
1) Do you have pain in perineal region ?
2) Do you have frequency for urination ?
3) Do you have painful ejaculation ?
) Has your GP done Digital Rectal Examination ?
I would suggest you to request your GP to get following basic tests done to help in to rule out Prostatitis

Enterobacter Cloacae are natural habitat in anal region and can easily get accessed to urethra due to close proximity .
It is utmost important to know their sensitivity pattern which is not mentioned in your previous urine culture report.Sensitivity pattern guide us to take appropriate antibiotic .I would suggest you to repeat urine culture and sensitivity done and to take appropriate antibiotic as per sensitivity report rather than boosting yourself by taking Cephalexin for a month when you are totally unaware of whether the bacteria are resistant or sensitive to same .

As this is day 4 and the cephalexin isn’t working, I went back to the GP ( not my normal GP) he looked at the results and said my blood tests didn’t have any elevated white blood cells, so unsure if it is an infection. He contacted the infectious disease department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital who suggested the following:
1. Urine PCR for mycoplasma Genitalium
2. Ultrasound scan KUB
3. Check prostate for prostatitis - had that checked today - no tenderness so all good

The redness and pain in glans penis and foreskin strongly suggest infection of Glans and Foreskin (Ballano-Posthatitis)
Are you diabetic? Have you ever done your sugar tests very recently?
Is there itching of the Glans Penis ?
Get your blood sugar tests done on empty stomach and 2 hours after lunch to rule out the same .
Continue Doxicycline twice daily along with topical antibiotic cream Soframycin .
Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily .

I am not a diabetic and had tests done within last 3 weeks, all normal.
There is no itching on the glans or foreskin.
The Doctor visually inspected penis today all normal and photos were uploaded last week.
The redness only appears when masturbating , otherwise all normal.
The pain can be felt inside urethra at the tip.
The doctor has me on ciprofloxacin, strong broad antibiotic.
No redness or irritation of foreskin

I have started on my new prescribed antibiotic called Ciprofloxacin, one tablet last night and two today, my urethra is feeling 40% better and no more irritation on penis XXXXXXX
Since starting the ciprofloxacin, I have felt pretty average and had some nausea today. My GP said this medication is very strong being a broad antibiotic, I still have 6 days to go with this med, hoping I can see it through without getting more side effects, just wondering your thoughts, and if you have any experience with this drug.

Today is day 3 taking Ciprofloxacin ( 6 tabs to date ). The second day I was feeling better no pain in urethra or on penis XXXXXXX
Today, tonight the irritation has returned inside my urethra, but glans still fine.
I still have 4 days to go taking ciprofloxacin, no more side effects.
If I felt better,now pain/irritation back, could it be still some irritation in the urethra that needs to be seen by a urologist to do a cystoscope ?
Or is the Enterobacter Cloacae fighting back ?
I am drinking lots of water, still taking URAL.
Just feeling concerned.
