Question: I have burning sensation that started on my upper inner thighs and now it has spread to my hips and low back. Almost feels like it is wrapped around this area.. It feels like I have a sunburn in these areas. It is sensitive to touch and seems to be a warm to me.

Brief Answer:
Could be pressure on the nerves in spinal canal.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
In my opinion , the burning sensation and hyperesthesia you are having ( without redness or fever) is most likely to be due to pressure on nerves, probably in spinal canal.
I suggest MRI of back and start pain killers ,a combination of pregabalin and methycobalamine . Rest of the treatment would be started after confirmation of diagnosis.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.

Thank you Dr. Goel, My comment is that I have been taking Gabapentin for about 1 1/2 years along with Hydrocodene to help with a bulging disc and degeneration. This morning, the burning pain is more acute on my glutes and hips. My thighs are still stinging, but it is tolerable. I'm not sure if this changes anything, but wanted to share additional info with you.

And no, there is no redness in these areas but it does feel a bit warm to me.

Thanks again, XXXXXXX

Your Information just confirms my initial diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi , This information provided by you just confirms my initial diagnosis. you have to continue same medicines but new MRI may be required to re assess the disc and to see if any spinal canal stenosis is developing .
