Brief Answer:
could be ganglion cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The lump you are describing sounds like a ganglion cyst. It is a kind of lump where the synovial fluid from joint accumulates as cyst and seeps out of the joint. Usually it is compressible and dissappears on pressing or giving pressure over it.
But if it is long standing or it starts causing other problems like pain and difficulty in movements and all it is better to be removed surgically.
It is usually harmless and can be left alone until above described symptoms starts showing up.
I would advice you to consult an orthopedic surgeon or general surgeon and also get a x ray of foot to see whether it is not something else other than cyst.
I hope I have answered your query well.
If you have any questions kindly ask me back.
Thank you
