default
Posted on Wed, 3 Aug 2016
Question: I had sex 8 days ago and have been experiencing a slight burning sensation around my anus and on parts of my penis. I haven't experienced any testicular swelling or any aches just the slight burning of aforementioned areas. Also I haven't noticed any blisters that might indicate herpes. What do you think may be causing this slight burning sensation?

Brief Answer:
Was this sex encounter protected?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I understand you are definitely worried and that is totally normal. To evaluate the risk and know what possible infections need to be closely evaluated for, I will like to know whether you used any protection during this encounter. Also, was it anal and was this the first time having any encounter with this partner?

I hope to hear back from you. At that time, I will provide more insights and personalized and helpful responses to help you address this and move on.

I look forward hearing from you soon and promise to respond as soon as I get the response here.

Thank you for your timely response.

To answer your questions:

I did not use protection.

This was the first time engaging in sexual intercourse with this person.

No form of anal sex occurred, only vaginal and oral sex.

Do I need to provide you with any more information?

I'm very relieved by this news!

Yesterday I bought some anti-itch lotion which seems to have relieved a lot of the slight burning sensation I have been experiencing.

I'm wondering if it's possible that I experienced some sort of reaction or some sort of skin irritation to the woman's makeup or lip stick that might have touched my genital area?
