Question : Hello. 2 weeks ago I experienced a smelly urine and then burning right at the end of urination. I visited an urgent care and they explained I didn't have a UTI, but have a bladder infection. They provided antibiotics and the smell and burning went away. After the antibiotics, I noticed that I began experiencing bloating and abdominal pain and tenderness in my lower right back under my hip bone and ab area. However, this was also around my cycle. Once I got my period the bloating, ab pain and tenderness went away. Is this something I should be concerned about?

I am so sorry to hear about this infection and the pain you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and there is just no reason to get worried. Your UTI has been fully treated as supported by the regression of symptoms. This pain around your periods with resolution after menses is not unexpected and in no way suggests a disease or an ongoing disease process.
