Question : sir, From past 2 years i am feeling burning sensation in my lower abdomen and burning while passing stool. This burning sensation occurs after some number of days repeatedly. I am taking very less oily diet. When burning occurs i feel heat in my hands/palms and in whole lower body. Not able to empty my stomach in one time, i have to go to twice or thrice in a day. During 2nd/3rd time i feel the burning most. Sometimes the stool color is tarry. Even i became prone to naval displacement and swelling in lower abdomen because of this and also not able to gain weight. When burning occurs i felt irritation in my mind and i become angry soon. I had Endoscopy and ultra sound but nothing shown in that, some days back on doctor told me it is IBS but the medicine given is not working. One more thing if i consume Eno or Pudin XXXXXXX feel relief in burning but it does not go off. Please help.

Brief Answer: medications and precautions will help. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing your query. Tarry or black stool can be due to some bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract. After reading your post, I would advise that you should follow some precautions like :- 1.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods. 2.Avoid spicy and oily foods. 3.Avoid mental and emotional stress. 4.Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any. 5.Avoid self medications, especially pain killers and steroids. 6.Drink lots of water daily. You can take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals. Antacid in gel or liquid form is also helpful as it forms a protective coating over the damaged mucosa. If the symptoms persists, get your self clinically examined and investigated. I hope this is helpful to you. Regards. Thanks.
