default
Posted on Mon, 28 Aug 2017
Question: Hi I have a burning/pinning sensation on left cheek, tingling/pinning sensation on lower back portion of the tongue(left side only) and soft palate and palattoglossal arch(only left side)
This pinning/burning sensation increases and decreases entire day.

I also feel a stretched feeling when I talk to somebody with a burning/pinning sensation. Sometime I feel a pinching sensation in left eardrum also

Met many Ent in last 6 months but all in vein.
.My family doctor told it could be a nerve problem.
Just wanted to know is it possible and to whom I should concern in this regard a Neurophysician?

Please help me on the same.

Hi Mam

Thanks for your reply. The medicines that were given by most ENT were methycobalamin
Just want to know the disease that u informed is curable in how much time and is it the life threatening "C" Disease.
I do not have any ulceration in these areas, no white
patches and I do not have any problem in eating anything spicy or hot.
Why I am asking this because I had a back history of tobacco chewing and smoking.
While tobacco chewing has been completely stopped from last one year smoking once or twice in entire month is still there but it has been reduced to almost 95% as earlier it was 3-5 cigarettes daily.

Brief Answer:
Infraorbital paresthesias

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information and the follow up query.
Paraesthesias are usually without any organic lesion but it should be once investigated to rule out any organic lesion involving the nerves for which a MRI should be done. Once it is confirmed that there is no any such lesion, nothing is to be done. Methylcobal is vitamin b12. You can take it of and on. You should rather take a combination of gabapentin and pregabalin. You should consult a doctor as you need a prescription for these medicines.
Physiotherapy can also help.
You should quit smoking.
The disease is curable or not can be said only after completely investigated.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Take care
Thanks and regards
