Brief Answer:
Take the drugs and let’s re-evaluate!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I will not want to totally discard the diagnosis of your treating doctor. This is because when acid reflux occurs, in severe cases the acid can get to the mouth and cause a burning sensation. This condition responds rapidly to treatment and I will say take it. If your symptoms don’t get better within a week, then we can say the diagnosis wasn’t right and other possible causes need to be investigated.

In all, I maintain the diagnosis as this is possible in severe cases. Take treatment and failure to respond within a week will make us question the diagnosis.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me and update me on your progress.

Kind regards.
